tanake was born in florence in winter '99 from the ashes of a previous project [the innuats]. though its headquarter is in tuscany, it has a sardinian soul [like innuats... of course], all guys came in fact from nùoro.
[geographic lesson: sardinia is the island below corse, in the mediterranean sea... nùoro is a city in the heart of sardinia...]
formerly tanake's line up was formed by roberto, maurizio and martino [ex-innuats], after few months andrea [a bored guy from southern italy] started to collaborate till he definitively left the band. the project is exclusively instrumental: no lyrics, nor singing. maybe some yell...
tanake has two self.product cds [tsu.zu.ku | april.june 2000 and reazioni pilomotorie | june 2003 - march 2004] that can be downloaded from the audio section of this web site.
after three years aknowledging itself [a troubled story of musicians going here and there], tanake starts to write its second chapter in february 2004.
in the early days [by the way: in the album tsu.zu.ku] tanake meant to reach structure by means of improvisation, but time left the songwriter soul all alone, and tanake's been surrounded by the never ending claustrophobic spaces of pure improvisation.
melody and cacophony, the opposites stays togheter in a meeting of melodic dissonances proud of generating rarefied climaxes slackenly generating anxiety, instruments stroken to create sweet melodies, or sometimes fondled till they roar their pain... trembling, greedy of eardrum to beat and caress...tanake does not believe in music.biz, no music trading, no copyright, all tracks are covered by copyleft: «all rights of the producer and of the owner of the reproduced work are free, unauthorized copying, hiring, lending, pubblic performance and broadcasting is desirable, please just declare its source» this suits to every track signed tanake.
